Six Demos, One Big Lesson: AI Is for Everyone!
Today we wrapped up the Edge Esmeralda x Vibe Code Ventures AI Workshop with a Demo Day, and if there was one takeaway from the afternoon, it was this:
AI is not a spectator sport.
Over the past few weeks, a group of our local business owners, community members, and those curious about ai came together to learn a new way of creating. Not everyone came from a technical background - in fact, we should probably say that almost nobody did. Most participants had never built a software product before.
What united everyone was curiosity, creativity, and a willingness to try things out.
During Demo Day, six projects were presented, each reflecting a different idea, challenge, and perspective. Some focused on solving real business problems, such as the work presented by Vernon Budinger of Neural Profit Engines. Others explored creativity, productivity, and entirely new ways of using technology - like Gillian Kieser's AI-powered Style Coach, which showed how AI can be used to make personal style advice more accessible, interactive, and fun. The projects themselves were interesting, but what made the event special was seeing how quickly people moved from "I've never done this before" to "here's what I built."
That spirit is at the heart of both Edge Esmeralda and the growing vibe-coding movement. Rather than waiting for permission, credentials, or years of technical training, people are learning by building. The goal isn't perfection - it's experimentation, curiosity, and turning ideas into reality.
Most importantly, the event reminded us that AI is for everyone. You don't need to be an engineer to create something meaningful. All you need is an idea and the willingness to start, Lovable – or some other AI app builder, and a healthy supply of credits. Bonus points if those credits are free.
A huge thank you to Noah, Jack, and Marielle of Vibe Code Ventures for making this workshop possible, and to everyone who showed up, learned, built, and shared their work with the community.
